Hello And Welcome to Atop the Fourth W- i mean HELLO everyone, it's me Spider-Plush (you can call me Eddie) here with another one of my stupid reviews. Now, today i won't be reviewing a Spider-Man comic, however today's comic does feature spidey.
So welcome back to another episode of SPIDER-PLUSH STORYTIME (a short one)
So back in 2019 i discovered this funny little comic called "The Unbelievable Gwenpool" because i got issue 4 on a random surprise comic book bag, i thought the issue was good and i reviewed it on twitter 3 years later. I later bought the trade paperback on the marvel comics app featuring the first 5 issues, i saw that i had 1 dollar left to buy Gwenpool Strikes Back #1, i didn't want to buy it, but for some strange reason, i decided to buy it because i guess my brain was in stupid mode. Months later i got the rest of the issues so here are my thoughts on issue 1.

Now, i don't own this comic in physical format or on a pdf somewhere, but i have the digital version in the marvel comics app, however i can't read them on my computer so i installed this emulator thing called bluestacks, which will finally let me read comics on my pc, which is the way god intended. (NOTE: As of June of 2023, The Marvel Comics App has shut down and i can only read the comics on Marvel Unlimited now.)
So the comic starts like a movie, a dark screen followed by some narration, the main character Gwenpool asks a question to the reader.
When i first read this panel i was like "what" but i kept reading because I'm stupid or something.
So, Gwen realizes that the is internal monologuing and she's all happy and shit because this is a gwenpool solo story. She is robbing a fucking bank.

So, there is this page of gwenpool talking to the reader and... WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT
why does the last panel exist? This was around the time that dabbing was a trend, and it was apparently cool, except it's not cool, it's fucking cringe. Do you think there is a variant cover where every marvel character is dabbing? that would be cringy, I'm gonna look it up right now.
so, i found the cover of Not Brand Echh #14 (which also features gwenpool)
This is not even a variant cover, some fucking guy at marvel saw this and said "yep, let's use this as the cover." LOOK EVEN THE FUCKING SQUIRREL IS PUKING
So, about gwenpool... She is robbing a bank to get spider-man's attention, Gwenpool wants Spidey to bite her so she can get superpowers and be more relevant in comic world or whatever. so she just unmasks him in front of everyone.
luckily no one saw anything.
So, the police are about to arrive, but some multiverse comic book panel shit happens which helps Gwen escape and then the issue ends.
I gotta tell you, this issue was pretty mid, i would give it a 6/10.
I know i said that i would review every issue on this article but i am fucking lazy, so i will review the other 4 issues in the future. (if i don't forget about this site)
