Cool and Strange Things I Found

Updated: May 12

Okay, this little "HELLO everyone" thing has to stop, i'm not trying to be like an angry reviewer on YouTube. My point is that i'll stop saying "HELLO everyone it's me Spider-Plush" because you all know who i am, I'm the only writer here and my name is in the beginning of every fucking article.

So i recently left my house willingly for the first time in 16 years, and i got an incredible idea... Go back inside and open Microsoft Edge and find cool things so you can share them in an article.

Oh shit yeah i'm supposed to be a "cool dudebro" now so... Heyo wassup bros it's ya boi, the totally awesome Eddie, these are the "cool strange things i found online and IRL maybe bro.

Here is a list of the things i'm gonna be looking at:

  • The Remnants of a Forgotten Era. (PlushTwt, 2018-2021)

  • Comics that are not Marvel or DC

  • Jason and The Heroes of Mount Olympus.

  • Fan made Sonic Comics.

Chapter 1: PlushTwt, the most 2019 thing i've ever seen.

Humor and memes were really strange in the late 2010's, we got things like the Drake Template, "Minecraft Good Fortnite Bad" and Thanos memes... Looking back, these memes kinda sucked, but it's not like today's memes are much better.

But how was twitter in 2019? I dunno, I wasn't old enough to have twitter at the time. Which is why I'm going to time travel to a time before Elon Musk purchased Twitter, back when Daily Raimi Spider-Man didn't have horrible takes...

So there used to be this meme titled "don't turn me into a marketable plushie" in which a fictional character gets turned into a marketable plushie. Ok just look at this example https://youtu.be/ejPolsQ2T_s?si=EZqeJdViyk6XAJ5H

Was this meme funny? No. Is it cringy looking at it now? YES, 100% YES.

So in this chapter i'll be looking at 3 twitter pages that may or may not have been inspired by this meme.

One time i was looking up my username and i found an account called "Spider-Plushie" and i was like "aye c'mon" and decided to look at their posts because it's been dead for ages. I've never met this person in my life and i am not associated with any of the 3 people in PlushTwt.

As you can clearly see in the picture, it says "Joined October 2019", Hooray! You can read!

October 2019, you say... That's a full year before i made my account... Does that mean i am a rip-off? Well, the concept of Spider-Plush was invented in the 1970s by Mego so technically we're both a bunch of frauds.

Things i can say about this person:

  1. They used the most BORING Spider-Man plushie as their "plush avatar"

  2. They play Nintendo Games

  3. They also like those GARBAGE PS4/PS5 Spider-Man games

  4. They've made the worst memes in existence

  5. Their Photoshop skills are better than mine.

Wanna see the worst memes ever? You ready? No you're not, GO GET READY!

Ready now? Okay, here it is.

Wow. This is up there with "This does not mama the mia"and that Pizza Tower SFM reaction vid. Like, this is straight out of REDDIT.

There's other people like "Morgana Plush" and "Michiru Plush" but tbh i gotta release this tomorrow so I'll just say that everyone in plushtwt is the same except for me... wait who the hell is Michiru?

They all abandoned their accounts around 2021 so does it really matter? No.

Chapter 2: Indie Comics.

In this chapter i'm gonna talk about a bunch of comics that are not made by the big 2, the comics i wanna look at are... hold on lemme check google play books... okay so here's what i'm gonna look at.

  1. Fred Perry's Gold Digger (Antarctic Press)

Antarctic Press is an Editorial company that i discovered through Frederik Knudsen's video about furries. They've published furry shit and human shit, not literal shit of course. i hope.

They are apparently one of the largest publishers in the United States

Well i've never heard of them until like 3 months ago but they seem chill.

One time i was looking for Independent comics to support and i found this one called Gold Digger which made me say "aw gee a comic book that i want to read, holy flip my fellas i gotta check it out" except no i didn't say that because i'm not an NPC, i actually just saw that the price was 16 mexican pesos and said "gee willingers that's really cheap!" and bought a few issues.

This series was all written and drawn by Fred Perry, a guy that has been drawing comics for a long time, and has mostly just worked for indie publishers and y'know what? I respect that.

So, Gold Digger is a book about Gina Diggers, the woman with 5 thousand jobs, and her family... oh, one of her family members just so happens to be a furry. They go on crazy wacky adventures of SCIENCE.

While googling about this series instead of reading the actual comics, i found a few funny little fun facts:

  1. This series has like 300 issues

  2. there was an OVA and i don't know where to watch it

  3. You should support this comic because supporting indie publishers is always cool :D

2. IDW

IDW, which stands for "I don't want" but it also stands for Idea Design Works... So anyways, IDW Publishing is a company that publishes, no shit. They've published a lot of things, they've published comic books like Transformers (this one's over), G.I. Joe, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony, Dungeons & Dragons and their most popular title (debatable), Sonic The Hedgehog.

Wow, that was the worst paragraph i've ever written.

Most people only read Sonic but there's also weird people that have read My Little Pony and there's normal people that have read TMNT. They're currently doing ok, i think, but i suggest that instead of pirating their comics, you should pay for them because 1, it supports local comic book shops and 2, it supports Indie publishers and writers.

Oh and by the way they also team up with Marvel Comics sometimes so that's cool. I'm never reading any Marvel Action comics but it's cool to know.

Chapter 3: Jason, yeah.

So there's this show called Jason and the Heroes of Mount Olympus and it's pretty weird, it's based on Greek Mythology and the Ancient world, or as i like to call it, The Good Ol' Days. The intro goes like this:

It's actually a good song, but let's talk about the show!!!!!

Well, believe it or not, the show is boring as fuck and i hate it... But why? Well, let me look at the notes i took while watching an episode during a Discord call...

  • Show has furries

Yes, this show has a lot of anthropomorphic characters, including this rabbit guy that i fucking hate because he's stupid as fuck and the worst. There's also this squirrel girl and she's also the WORST EVER.

  • The protagonist is Jason.

Yeah guys, believe it or not, Jason is our protagonist in this show about Jason. But sometimes the squirrel girl is the one that saves the day, look idk.

  • The show is pretty boring

Yeah maybe i'm just not into greek mythology, but i thought this show was pretty boring and stupid, but if you wanna give it a watch, then good luck with that. (most episodes are available to watch on YouTube.)

Chapter 4: IM GONNA MAKE FUN OF THE SONIC FANBASE HAHAHAHAHAHHA

So recently i was sitting on my couch looking all depressed and shit but then i thought to myself "hey, remember those totally official manga adaptations of the Sonic Adventure games" so i stood up so i could sit down again and go to the Internet Archive and read them... And then i found out that there is no official manga adaptation of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, and they were made by fans.

So the Sonic Adventure manga/comic/i don't know anymore was made by a Spanish gal named Eva Richarte Prieto and Translated to english by Alessandro Sanasi (Tyro) and MilesTailsPrower-007, yes the real Tails translated this.

So, the art is really cute and good. and the translation is ok.... no i couldn't find the original comic in Spanish. Also there's no cover, just the first page :D

If you wanna read it, here is Alessandro's website Sonic the Hedgehog Info Page. (franken.de)

The website is abandoned so be sure to archive it in case it ever goes down and we can no longer access it.

Sonic Adventure 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This comic was made by Elson "Darkspeeds" Wong in 2001 for people that are too lazy to play Sonic Adventure 2... So the cover is pretty cool, there's sonic and gang... but what's with the medicine logos? I don't know. I could ask Darkspeeds about it but i don't have his contact info.

Reading this comic was a little bit of a struggle, it's not boring or anything, i was just having trouble finding a definitive version of this comic. The version posted on SonicVerse Team is incomplete and only has 41 pages, there's no PDF of this and the definitive version has like 200+ pages. Wow. And to top it all off, my dumbass was trying to read it like an american comic for like 3 pages before realizing that this is a manga... That wasn't my smartest move.

What about the comic? It's just the story of Sonic Adventure 2. also there's a mario cameo at one point. this is a spiritual successor to that SA1 comic from a few paragraphs ago. I mean, think about it, both comics have a cute art style and both have funny little jokes. Yeah, i like this comic, you should check it out one day.

And make sure to check out SonicVerse Team because they have more fun comics. No this isn't sponsored, this website has probably been dead for ages, and why would i be sponsored by a fan-site?

Yeah that'll be all for today, see you all next month... Wait, my birthday's coming up in 26 days? I need to do something, fast!
